Job Description:
As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our Lee's Summit office, focusing on the design, programming, installation, and support of PLC and HMI-based control systems for rotary drying systems. Reporting directly to the Electrical Controls Engineering Manager, you will lead projects from conception to completion, ensuring that our systems meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and program PLC and HMI-based control systems.
- Lead factory acceptance tests to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Provide technical support to the sales and service departments.
- Administer engineering procedures such as ECNs and CARs.
- Participate in weekly engineering meetings to drive project progress.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Science Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in control system design, development, programming, and field commissioning.
- Proficiency with Allen Bradley Studio 5000 controllers and CCW base controllers.
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
Bonus Points For:
- Previous experience in custom manufacturing.
- Basic understanding of Rotary Dryer technology.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software.
- Knowledge of Emerson Movicon HMI products and Microsoft Excel Visual Basic.
